Sunset
from Ubirr Thousands of tourists come to Kakadu every year, many of them unaware of the struggles occuring over uranium mining in the place they have come to visit. Ubirr is one of the most popular places, a sacred outcrop where people come to watch the sun set across the wetlands. Ubirr is also the site of some of the ancient rock art which makes up part of the living tradition of the Traditional Owners of the area. |
